Even in the face of enemies and persecution we can have hope. Even when things aren’t going well, hope! Instead of living a life defeated by satan, sin, or the flesh, Praise God more and more, don’t let the enemy get a hold of you! David says,
"For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together, Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him. O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help. Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonour that seek my hurt. But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more." [Psa 71:10-14]
CONCLUSION
The answer to persecution, trial, or temptation is not to give in; it is not to fall down defeated. No, but we are soldiers, soldiers of Jesus Christ, and unlike the world, we have an everlasting and eternal hope in Jesus Christ our Lord. And therefore, when the enemy rises up, hope in Jesus and praise His glorious Name.
"Now the God of hope fill you will all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit." [Rom 15:13]
