Faithful to Hear

God is a wonderful Father. He is never too busy for us, and is always welcoming us to pray to Him. In fact, this is one quality of God’s faithfulness toward us and His righteousness. David says,

"Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness." [Psa 143:1]

Because God is faithful and righteous He answers our prayers. He is a faithful God; faithful to always listen and answer one way or the other. Jesus says that “if ye shall ask any thing in My Name, I will act.” [Jn 14:14] It is comforting to know that when we pray to God we can be sure He hears us!

"I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and He gave ear unto me." [Psa 77:1]

It is also a comfort to know that when we pray according to God’s will He hears us. For “this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, He heareth us: and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.” [1 Jn 5:14-15] And we know that anything in God’s word is His will, so we should be praying God’s word often. Especially since Jesus says, “if ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” [Jn 15:7]

Though man often despises us for continually asking questions or speaking, God doesn’t. He is faithful and righteous, and through prayer, through seeking our wonderful God out, we find lfie.

"…your heart shall live that seek God: For The LORD heareth the poor, and despiser not His prisoners." [Psa 69:32-33]

When we think that God doesn’t hear us, that is in haste. He does hear us and He preserves us. Be faithful to continue pursuing Him! Be of good courage even when it seems like He may not be listening and He shall strengthen your heart!

"Blessed be The LORD: for He hath shewed me His marvelous kindness in a strong city. For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes: nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee. O love The LORD, all ye His saints: for The LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer. Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in The LORD." [Psa 31:21-24]

God never forgets to be gracious. He never shuts up His anger. That is our weakness for not understanding God or forgetting Him! God is always gracious and full of tender mercy. He will be with us for all of time, so don’t doubt if your prayer is not answered as you expect or quickly. The LORD is faithful.

"Will the LORD cast off for ever? And will He be favorable no more? Is His mercy clean gone for ever? Doth His promise fail for evermore? Hath God forgotten to be gracious? Hath He in anger shut up His tender mercies? Selah. And I said, this is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most high." [Psa 77:7-10]

CONCLUSION

The LORD is faithful to hear our prayers. He is righteous. He is holy and not like men: He always has time for us, and He never changes. We can be confident that He hears us and that He desires to answer us one way or the other.
