Perfect Love Casts out Fear

The LORD, our Father, has made us, formed us from the womb, and chosen us. We are eternally His. And He tells us in Isaiah 44:2-3 “fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou, Jeshrun, whom I have chosen. For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring.”

Our Father’s reasoning for us not to fear is simple: because He is going to pour out His Holy Spirit on us; He is going to pour water on us, making our fields/ground rich and abundant with life. When we are going through trials we need not fear, but rejoice, but glory, but sing to Christ! For through the trial He will pour upon us abundantly of His spirit. If we do this, enduring in trials, growing in likeness to Jesus, and hoping in Him, we will not be ashamed.

"Hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by The Holy Spirit which is given unto us." [Rom 5:3-5].

This love in us casts out fear. For we know that as Jesus Christ exists now in heaven, so do we exist here on earth. The Father views us just as He does His Son; and just as Jesus loved and obeyed God, and loved the brethren here on earth, we too can overcome the world and its lusts, receiving ability through The Holy Spirit to love and obey God and love the brethren. And truly, we are not slaves to the lusts of our flesh, not slaves to give in to every trial and temptation in loss or forfeit,

"For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through The Spirit do put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage against to fear; but ye have receive the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father." [Rom 8:13-15]

"Herein our love has been completed, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as [Jesus] is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but completed love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth has not been completed in love. We love Him, because He first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from Him, that he who loveth God love his brother also. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth Him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." [1 Jn 4:17-5:4]

CONCLUSION

We need not fear because we have received The Holy Spirit, who cries out within us “Abba, Father!” And truly, since The Holy Spirit dwells within us, we are freed from the slavery of sin and this world – including fear. Through His power, through faith in Jesus Christ, we overcome the world for “as [Jesus] is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but complete love casteth out fear” and, “whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world. and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

When we have the power of God working in our lives we need not fear! “Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” [Isa 41:14]
