When we finally enter glory with our Beloved God, Jesus, He will be excited to see us! Jesus will not look upon us with disdain or discouragement, nor with any negativity. When we, as God promises, “shall see His face,” there will be great joy in heaven. Zephaniah tells us,
"The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing." [Zeph 3:17]
Jesus is our Bridegroom and in His perfect love toward us there is no fear. John tells us that “perfect love casteth out fear.” Jesus is desirous to welcome us home, to finally consummate our relationship with Him as His bride. In Song of Solomon, the bride says,
"I am my beloved's, and his desire is toward me." [Song 7:10]
And in the Psalms,
"So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him." [Psa 45:11]
And Jesus Himself prays,
"Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world." [Jn 17:24]
If our King is desiring to see us, and will meet us with such joy, that should fill us with great hope. As Paul says, we “rejoice in hope of the glory of God” and Solomon, “…the righteous hath hope in his death.” So let us rejoice in this hope and put on “for an helmet, the hope of salvation,” for “we are saved by hope” and “God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.” [1 Thess 5:9]
