Unbound and Glorious

Nearly two thousand years ago our King was slaughtered. He was slaughtered by the very ones He created, by the very flesh and blood He held together with the spoken word of His power; and He was crushed by the undiluted wrath of El Shaddai, God Almighty.

He was bound by the Romans, for John records,

"Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus and bound Him." [Jn 18:12]

Then He was bound by Annas,

"Now Annas had sent Him bound unto Caiaphas the high priest." [Jn 18:24]

Then He was bound by Caiaphas,

"And when they had bound Him, they led Him away, and delivered Him to Pontius Pilate the governor." [Mt 27:2]

Then He was bound to the cross,

"For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet." [Psa 22:16]

And bound with grave clothes,

"Then took they the body of Jesus, and bound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury." [Jn 19:40]

But Christ could not be bound! For He rose out from among the dead on the third day! Resurrected to never die again! The Living Word who was in the beginning with God and was God [Jn 1:1], was “raised up from the dead by the glory of The Father.” Our Father,

"...Raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all." [Eph 1:20-23]

Jesus The Word of God is not bound! And truly His logos is unbound as well! “The Word of God is living, and productive, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” [Heb 4:12] And again,

"Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel: wherein I suffer trouble, as an evil doer, even unto bonds; but the word of God is not bound." [2 Tim 2:8-9]

Jesus lives in heaven, The Word is alive and well, unbound and never to be bound again, never to suffer again. For “it is not possible that He should be holden of [the pains of death].” One day He will return in all His glory, for it is written,

"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war. His eyes were a flame of fire, and on His head were many diadems; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD." [Rev 19:11-13]

"And The LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and His Name one." [Zech 14:9]

"He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth. In His days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth. He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth." [Psa 72:6-8]

CONCLUSION

Jesus Christ was bound for our sakes’ that we might become unbound! Jesus was tied so that we might be loosed from the power of sin and death! And truly He is unbound forevermore, resurrected, in all of His magnificence and glory, seated on The Father’s right hand.

"Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah." [Psa 24:7-10]
