Bravery & Fearlessness

Section III, overview: The glory of Jesus Christ, in an applicable sense, is His character: it is who He is. The beholding of and pursuit of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ ought to be the Christian man’s chief enjoyment and focus. It is through this vital act that we are conformed and transformed into His glorious image; through this overriding passion our lives are transformed and the image of Jesus which we reflect becomes clearer. Our lives are given purpose, strength, peace, hope, love, and all other good things when we fixedly place our gaze on our King, Shepherd, Groom, Mediator, and Savior – Jesus Christ. Jesus’ life is the ultimate blueprint for any man’s life. His glorious character far outshines every single person ever to live, and so we will look at His character, His glory, and find therein great and vital instruction for our lives, as well as magnificent encouragement.
In this world we are to be brave. A man is to face danger and trials with strength and passion; He is to face them as Christ Jesus did, without fear. We must be undaunted and strong, acting like men, like soldiers. The brave and courageous obey God and act in love regardless of who opposes them, relying on God’s strength and looking to Christ as their head. In all things we can have great bravery because God is with us.
